to neuter the one and only constitutional rule of law enforcement office we have
as a Constitutional Republic. All other law enforcement agencies are by
statute. We the People elect our Constitutional Law Enforcer giving him the
authority, as the chief constitutional enforcement office in our given
counties. He is the 1st and the last defense against an overpowering Federal
Government.

It's Time
To Stand And Be Counted
The Right
of Self Defense for all individuals is a God-given unalienable right that
precedes our country's foundation and all government institutions. Our Founders
believed this right was so vital that they unanimously declared it as part of
the Bill of Rights. Their reference to the Militia within the Second Amendment
is not a contradiction, as Founding Father George Mason stated, "I ask sir, what
is the Militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and
most effectual way to enslave them." This principle had nothing to do with
hunting or target shooting, but had everything to do with liberty.
Whereas,
our country is in great
turmoil and a new movement is underway to destroy the principles that made
America great in the first place and,
Whereas,
President Lincoln warned us
that if America were ever to be destroyed, such destruction would come from
within and
,
Whereas,
Federal politicians are
ignoring the inner city violence and recidivists, and are proposing registration
and confiscation aimed at law abiding citizens and,
Whereas, such statutes will only make criminals
out of citizens who are neither criminals nor have the intention of committing
any crimes whatsoever and,
Whereas,
the Supreme Law of the land
expressly forbids gun control in America,
Therefore, in keeping with the Oath we each swore
to protect and defend the United States Constitution and the Constitution of our
State, and to do our duty to preserve the rights of the people we work for, we,
the Sheriffs of America, do hereby declare and make it known, that we will
oppose and disallow, any and all attempts to further erode the rights of the
citizens of our counties and parishes. Accordingly, we oppose the current gun
control scheme being proposed and any attempt to register gun owners or their
firearms. In fine, the rights of the people to keep and bear arms Shall Not Be
Infringed.

Our offices have been flooded with emails
and calls from many of your constituents who are also members of these Sponsor
Organizations listed above, and they want to know where you stand on the Second
Amendment and the oath you swore when you took your job. We have given our word
to the American people that we would ask you and publish the results. That is
the purpose of this correspondence.
Enclosed you will find a form for your
signature and an SASE for your convenience in which to return it. Please take a
moment to peruse the form, sign it, and send it back as promptly as you can.
"This is no time for ceremony. This is
one of awful moment to our country." We are the generation who will decide
whether we continue as the constitutional Republic as designed by the Founders,
or will we succumb to the temptation to "fundamentally change America" into
another socialistic regime? Many of your citizens have much at stake and deserve
to know the truth. They are afraid and do not like what they see. Many feel this
is the most critical time in our nation's history since the Civil War. They
watch as our leaders scoff at the Bill of Rights and demean the Constitution.
They have heard some local leaders actually say that they will go along with
Executive Orders to unlawfully derail the Second Amendment and other liberties
guaranteed therein. Some leaders have pretended that there is a moral high
ground in going along with "all laws" at the expense of the Bill of Rights and
State Constitutions, which also implicitly protect the right to keep and bear
arms.
This is still America and the people are,
and have right to be, free and protected from the overreach of vapid
politicians. As the people's ultimate Protector, will you now stand with your
colleagues who have reaffirmed their oaths to "protect, defend, and preserve the
United States Constitution" and the Constitution of the State wherein you serve?
This is the time to stand and be counted. Yes, your response, or lack thereof,
will be published. Those of you hoping to "stand on the fence" on this most
fundamental issue will receive the lowest rating.
We
sincerely hope that you will take this seriously, and as a servant of the
people, let them know honestly where you stand.
